Crafted & Aged in Ecuadorean Andes, South America
In 1906 Industrias Romero was founded in Quito by Alfonso Romero, grandfather of the current management, brother and sister Johan & Ivanova Romero.Since the beginning the company was active in the field of distillation, both as a distilling company and as a service provider for the then incipient Ecuadorean spirits industry. Nowadays, over a 100 years later, the company maintains operations in the same areas in which it started. In all these years, the family has mastered the art of distilling, passing the knowledge from generation to generation, all the while garnering an impressive stock of very old, self-distilled rum casks. Fueled by the desire to show the world the result of this accumulated experience, Johan & Ivanova decided in 2020 to launch “Romero & Sons”, Ecuador’s true small batch rum brand. Romero & Sons rum brand, was created with the declared intention of becoming the #1 brand of true small batch, un-dosed rums from Ecuador. Produced under the same fermentation, distillation and aging techniques used by the original founder over a hundred years ago, Romero & Sons mystique is rather simple: a product that stands out through impeccable technique and quality, not through marketing and sophisticated dosage.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: raisins, vanilla, oak and slight hints of hazelnuts.
Palate: Vanilla and rich notes of butterscotch, molasses and chocolate.
Finish: Long, caramel and oak and a subtle note of nuts.
Excellent rhum , frais et puissant à la fois
1/5. Cant feel anything else but alcohol. Taste killer
Not much in it really. I respect the bottling strength (48%), but there isn’t much depth to the nose or the palate.
Odrickbart och smakar endast sprit och snusk. Häll ut innehållet och använd flaskan för att plantera sticklingar i istället.
0/5
Desirae give this a 2.5, the nose was nice and sweet, the palate was a little over bearing though, hard to cut through all the spices.
Ryan 2.5 lots of spices, cinnamon?.. caramel… brown sugar…smokeyness almost like burnt wood
