J.Gow Revenge

J.Gow Revenge

Revenge is a three-year-old pure single Scottish rum aged in ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks for three years. A Blend of our HD marque (heavy dunder, all previous backset from the stripping run is used in the next fermentations alongside muck from the dunder pit) and DS marques (double stripped, an extra stripping run to create a higher abv slightly lighter spirit).

J. Gow rum is produced in Orkney, Scotland, on Lamb Holm a tiny island (0.15 square miles). Home to the Italian Chapel and connected to mainland Orkney by the Churchill barriers. The distillery began in 2017 and sits metres away from the sea. It may well be one of the smallest rum producing islands in the world. All of our rum is made entirely in Orkney, from start to finish. High grade molasses is imported (unfortunately it’s hard to grow sugar cane in Orkney) and fermented for 5 – 14 days, in our temperature controlled 2000 litre fermenter and 2000 litre pot still. We ferment to around 8% ABV and double distil. We produce a range of rum styles, using various fermentation techniques with different percentages of backset/dunder. Mainly focusing on heavier, more full bodied rums. Casks are laid down every year, with the aim to release 8 and 12 year old rums as and when they are ready. We currently have a mixture of chestnut, virgin oak, ex bourbon, ex red wine, ex port and ex whisky casks. J. Gow Rum takes its name from the infamous Orkney pirate John Gow. His short, violent career began in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and ended in Orkney. He was imprisoned, tried and hung. Not once, but twice, (after the rope snapped the first time) at London’s execution dock on the 11th of June 1725. While the name conjures up images of pirates, it also creates imagery of the brutal seas and rugged coastlines surrounding Orkney.

Tasting Notes: Light funk, acidic fruit and caramel on the nose. Stone fruit, spice and toffee on the palate with over ripe peaches on the finish.

Chairmans Forgotten Cask

Chairmans Forgotten Cask

Chairman's Reserve The Forgotten Casks refers to the "lost" casks that were found four years after the fire broke out at the distillery on May 2nd 2007. This serendiptious discovery was succesfully replicated to create a new extra-aged version of their award-winning rum.

Saint Lucia's Finest Rum, Chairman's Reserve, is as iconic as the Piton Mountains which adorn its bottle. Pour a glass and you'll be instantly transported to the gorgeous palm-fringed beaches, miles of lush rainforest, and lively nightlife full of tradition and culture which embody Saint Lucia. You won't find an age statement on a bottle of Chairman's Reserve. This is because we believe in the philosophy set forth by the late "Chairman" Laurie Barnard, which this quote of his can best summarize:“We do not put age statements on our rums because we believe passionately that complexity and balance can only be maximized by blending old, complex, but often ‘woody’ rums with fresher but characterful rums.”Though Laurie passed in 2012, his quality control and blending team continues to embrace the techniques and standards passed down to them through his tutelage. Our head blender, Deny Duplessis, tastes each batch of Chairman's reserve to ensure that the quality and consistency live up to the internationally recognized name of Chairman's Reserve - Saint Lucia's finest rum. St. Lucia Distillers is the last remaining distillery in Saint Lucia and was a result of a merger between the two then remaining distilleries in 1972.

Following the collapse of the sugar industry and the last sugar estate closing in Saint Lucia in the 1960s, previous on-island sources of molasses were extinguished. St. Lucia Distillers adapted to the times and began importing molasses from neighboring islands by tanker boat, using the convenient depth of the nearby bay, Roseau Bay, to anchor. St. Lucia Distillers is globally known for its vast variety of rums due to the many tools at our disposal. Three pot stills, one Coffey column still, different raw materials, a wide variety of barrel types, two different yeast types, unique local herbs and fruits for infusions, and the hot Caribbean sun all make for an array of products of the highest quality - all of which embody the DNA of Saint Lucian rum. RUM BLEND: A marriage of aged rums distilled from Coffey and pot stills. MATURATION: Aged separately by batch and type of still in ex-Bourbon barrels, then blended and rested in oak vats for an additional six months. Average age of the blend is 5 years.

Tasting Notes: An expressive aroma of rich, dark, gold mahogany color with an intense note of wet raisins, cigar tobacco, amber honey and vanilla. A warm palate offers grilled tropical fruit and candied walnuts rounded with soft spices that persists throughout a long wonderful finish.

Java Reserve

Java Reserve

This Indonesian rum is a harmonious blend of sweetness, fruitiness, and spice, making it a unique and enjoyable experience for any rum enthusiast.

Production Process - Like Japanese Sake, the fermentation of Indonesian molasses is done by adding malted and fermented rice instead of the usual yeast. It is then partially distilled in a traditional Chinese still and a column still. Then, a double aging process is carried out: first for 3 years in teak barrels, the Indonesian wood, then 3 Years in American oak barrels, ex-bourbon.

Tasting Notes: Nose: This rum greets you with a sweet and inviting aroma dominated by dried fruits, particularly rich raisins. The complexity of the nose hints at the layers of flavors to come.Palate: On the palate, the rum unfolds with a delightful blend of flavors. The prominent taste of flambéed banana adds a luscious, caramelized sweetness, complemented by a subtle smoky note that adds depth and character.Finish:The finish is long and spicy, a distinctive contribution from the aging in teak barrels. The spice lingers pleasantly, leaving a warm and satisfying aftertaste. Tasting Tips: Neat: in a tulip or Cognac glass, this is the preferred method to appreciate all the aromatic and taste complexities of the rum.On the rocks: it can be enjoyable, especially in hot weather. Ice cubes slightly dilute the rum as they melt, softening its taste and revealing different aromatic notes. In a cocktail: some cocktails are specifically designed to highlight the characteristics of this Indonesian aged rum such asTeak Spice Daiquiri, Smoky Banana Flip or Banana Rum Punch.

Cargo Cult Navy

Navy Strength, 100% Pot Still, 54,5% ABV, +3 Years, Tropical Aged, No spices added - Plenty of South Pacific Goodness.

As World War II spread to the South Pacific, US troops descended on isolated islands, with their CARGO of unimaginable riches: tinned meat that never spoilt, cigarettes, beer in cans, jeeps, and more... Many of the islanders had never seen outsiders before and believed this was a miraculous occurrence. Just as abruptly the troops departed, leaving only rusted jeeps, crumpled beer cans and memories of tinned meat. Yearning for the return of abundance, Islanders built aircraft from palm trees and cleared landing strips to summons back the Visitors and their legendary leader, a man who has gone by many names and appearances (from US soldiers, to local figures to UK royalty...) Islanders formed ‘Cargo Cults’ that endure in remote communities, patiently awaiting the return of mystical leader and his limitless abundance of CARGO. While over 70 years has past and the mythical LEADER with his limitless supply of cargo is yet to re-appear over the horizon, his rum has arrived.

Tasting Notes: NOSE: Complex aromas of cacao, butterscotch, tobacco, raisons and toffee. TASTE: Rich, big bodied and complex. Dark chocolate, raisons, butterscotch and caramel open up with perfectly balanced sweetness and robust flavour. Smooth and velvety in taste and finish.

Ron Doble 9-15

Ron Doble 9-15

The origin of the Doble 9 naming comes from the denomination of Cuban domino, that is played in an important region of Cuba. It consists of having 55 pieces and not the 28 of the classical domino. The origin of this modification of the traditional dominoes that the Cubans made, is a real unknown.. But there are some legends…

The origin of the DOBLE 9 Rum is a tribute to the first tobacco growers of Cuba, before the production of the cigar leaf became massive, and the magic of the artisan work of expert hands was lost. The work in “las vegas” where the pure tobacco leaf was grown was very hard. It was a manual work that pampered the cultivation to the maximum, so as not to lose its characteristic essence. After those long days, tired but happy for their work, the tobacco growers would meet under the moonlight where they enjoyed a cigar along with a glass of exquisite rum. On one of those warm nights, with a crescent moon, one of the elders thought that, since he could not accelerate the phases of the moon to have better vision, why not lengthen the game and make it more durable and enjoy more time of those lovely nights. The DOBLE 9 pays tribute to the effort and tenacity of the first Cuban tobacco growers. A deserved recognition to the Cuban culture and a game that is enjoyed in a good company, like a Good and smooth 100% Cuban Rum.

Tasting Notes: Dark amber-coloured provided by barrels used during its long ageing, it is classified as a dark mature rum. Persistent aroma, strong woody, moderated fruit, with notes of dry fruits, vanilla and coconut. It is sweet in flavour filling the palate, long and lasting fatty, slightly ardent. Delicious to be taken neat or with some ice.

El Supremo 8 YO

El Supremo 8 YO

An exceptional medium bodied dark amber Rum. This 8 year old rum is a complex fusion of a full flavored, heavy bodied rum, creating a sumptuous smooth sipping rum which can also form the basis of memorable cocktails.

Natural • Aged • Agricole - In the 16th century, Paraguay was the main crossroad of the South American continent. The capital Asunción, founded in 1537, is the oldest city in Latin America. It was from here that Spanish caravans left and founded other cities such as Buenos Aires. An important chapter in the history of this nation was the arrival of the Jesuits in the 17th century. They built their famous missions in the most fertile areas of the country and introduced sugar cane. From there the production of "Cana Paraguaya" started. Cana Paraguaya is a typically Paraguayan distillate from the fresh juice of fermented sugar cane. It is obtained using traditional distillation methods and aging takes place in barrels made with a local wood called Incienso Marron. The cane is cut by hand, using the traditional Paraguayan Carreta or Karréta in the Guarani language, and transported to themills. Here the cane is pressed to obtain the juice, filtered and boiled for 9 hours in huge containers over open fires. The honey obtained is fermented for 3 days and finally distilled in traditional copper stills. Mineral water, one of the purest in the world, coming from the Guaranì aquifer, is then added to gradually reduce the alcohol content. The rum is aged in large barrels made with a local wood called Incienso Marron. It is the aging in this native wood that gives the rum its unique color and unmistakable flavor. Aging then ends in smaller French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Nose: The initial hit off the nose is warming and redolent. Cloves, cinnamon, candied orange peel and vanilla dominate. A slightlactic tang brings to mind a glazed carrot cake; extremely inviting and homey. The vegetal notes from the Reserva have softened dramatically, and while still present, take a back seat to the wood influence. Taste: Spicy and dry ,with layers of cocoa, caramel and spices. A strong incienso and oak presence. Immediately present are the beginnings of that classic aged Agricole funk, more inviting than challenging, the tastes of mineral and warm rubber evoke images of a race track more than a factory fire. The initial hit then resolves to more carrot cake; but much like the Reserva this is by no means a sweet rum. This expression is no more richer in mouthfeel, but there is a lot more clarity to the image, the structure is more coherent and flavours more complex. Finish: Once again a long finish, smooth, clean and but supple. There is an appetising bitter cocoa note and it goes down like spiced Mexican hot coco, warming but with restraint.

The rum is a blend of heavy, flavorful rum from the first column, and pure, crisp distillate collected from the fourth column. After blending, barrels from the American Whisky industry are filled with fresh Aguardiente and allowed to mature for a minimum of 7 years in the tropical climate of El Salvador.

INGENIO LA CABAÑA - Ingenio la Cabaña started planting sugar cane in the early 1900s and has gradually built the largest sugar mill in the country. In 2004 the doors opened to their distillery in the Cihuatán Valley. Fresh sugar cane is harvested and processed into sugar, leaving the distillery with a steady supply of local molasses and concentrated sugar cane syrup. A 36-hour fermentation in three tanks using different strains of yeast is used to create several rum profiles with a variety of aromas and flavors. At 8% abv, the wash is distilled in a four-column still, where heavy rum leaves the third column at 75% abv and light rum from the fourth column at 94.9% abv. Blends of different fermentations and distillates create an almost unlimited amount of rums, that are blended and proofed down to 65% abv before maturation in American white oak casks. Master distiller and blender Gabriela Ayala oversees every part of the production process, from seed to glass. THE RUM - The production of Cane Island Single Estate El Salvador Rum starts in the sugar cane fields around El Paisnal. The sugar cane is harvested by hand and sent straight to Ingenio la Cabaña for processing. After crushing, pressing, and separating the sugar the molasses are mixed with fresh water from the highlands and the distillery’s own propagated yeast strain. Fermentation develops a wash with an alcohol level of around 8%. Our rum is a blend of heavy, flavorful rum from the first column, and pure, crisp distillate collected from the fourth column. After blending, barrels from the American Whisky industry are filled with fresh Aguardiente and allowed to mature for a minimum of 7 years in the tropical climate of El Salvador. Aromas of Walnuts, Vanilla, and caramel are dominant on the nose, with hints of Oak,Nutmeg, and freshly brewed Coffee. The texture is rich and oily with flavors of Nougat, Milk Chocolate & Espresso, and spicy Vanilla, Marzipan, and treacle on the finish.

Tasting notes: Copper brown colour. The elegant notes of Walnut, Almond, Vanilla & Marzipan, and hints of Orange blossom & Nutmeg linger on the palate. A Rum for every occasion. Enjoy it straight, on the rocks, or in your favourite cocktail.

Blue Mauritius Gold

Blue Mauritius Gold

This most exclusive spirit drink from Mauritian rum develops delicious notes of roasted nuts, vanilla and tropical red fruits, a true window to the beautiful lagoons of Mauritius.

History of mauritian rum - Rum production in Mauritius dates back to the 19th century. At that time, there were about forty distilleries in operation. Today there are less than ten. Sugar cane was introduced by the Dutch who cultivated it for the production of arak. Since than, the technology of rum production was inherited by the Mauritian people from generation to generation.

Our story - History of our production dates back to 2012, when Blue Mauritius Gold was first created. Blue Mauritius is made from the finest sugar cane distilate rum, distilled on island Mauritius. The molasses is matured for 36 hours before distillation, the 95% white alcohol is then reduced to 60% and blended before it is put in tanks from port barrels giving it natural flavours and eliminating the bitter taste of aged alcohol.

The process takes less than one year and the colour is stabilized. It is important to note that maceration, blending and processing is done in small quantities and all flavours are kept as pure as possible. You may find small deposits over time, this is the result of natural ingredients used during the blending process. No homogenization or any other chemical processes are used, keeping the product as natural as possible.

After about a year of aging, the precious liquid is poured into heavy French glass and closed with a wooden stopper and transparent seal. The leather necklace added after the bottling process serves to absorb the drops of each serving, keeping the bottle clean and prolonging the delicious aroma. To complete the process, swift hands take care of the finished bottles and, bottles are cleand and packed in special thick cartons. Special care is taken in every step.

Guatemala Grand Reserve

Guatemala Grand Reserve

A high quality rum from molasses, fermented and distilled in a column still at Destiladora del Alcoholes y Rones, S.A. Tululà. Once distilled, the rum is transported to North East Guatemala in ex-Bourbon white oak barrels, in which it undergoes maturation at 185 meters above sea level for at least 4 years in the Hondo river region. This choice of place, with high humidity, allows a very fast and intense maturation, because Rio Hondo is on of the warmest areas of Guatemala, with an almost tropical climate. The result is one of the lightest rums in our collection, in a full Latin style with its typical sweetness and fragnant notes of vanilla and raisins, but with a medium body and a moderate sugariness.

Rum Nation was created by (our founding father), Fabio Rossi. He sought out select casks of rum from around the world on his numerous travels and bottled the very first Rum Nation bottles back in 1999. The variety of the different casks he chose and the huge difference in geographical styles required a unique approach to each style of rum – joined under one brand. This became the cornerstone of our philosophy then and is our philosophy still today - to join a selection of the best rums from different nations under one series – Rum Nation. In this manner, the labelling of the rums does not (necessarily) include the names of the distilleries but instead the area of origin. Additionally, a postal stamp of the same country of origin as the rum is a graphical embellishment that continues throughout our entire range of bottles and labels.

Tasting Notes: Appearance: Chestnut honey.Nose: Flowery, delicate, with the typical perfume of cane sugar, and a hint of buttery character. Dates, raisins, orange rindPalate: Easy, velvety, warm. Sweet but not syrupy, with notes of vanilla, cola, raisins. Crème brûlée, and a final herbal touch like vermouth, with a hint of orange rind, anise and liquorice.Finish: Getting more tannic and toasted, with the herbal note and some black pepper coming to the fore. Delicate final burst of warmth.Comment: One of the lightest rums in our selection, with a pleasantly sweet touch in the Latin style but without ever becoming too sugary.

Over the past 100 years, in addition to growing high-quality coffee for the world market, they have also produced excellent beverages made from sugarcane. Since 1889 their distilattion is carried out with the aid of pot stills with a capacity of 7.500 liters and a distillation column. Furthermore, they offer both open and closed fermentation processes, employing long-term methods that provide a variety of yeats with unique flavors. To ensure quality ingredients for their products, they cultivate three varieties of sugarcane, carefully selected for their region. At the moment, their maximum production capacity is 300.000 liters per year, with warehouse space available to store 500.000 liters in wooden barrels. They also have their own bottling facility at the distillery which ensures total control over the quality of their product. They are always in search of excellence in their production, but without forgetting their commitment to the enviroment and sustainability. Therefor, they generate their own energy through solar panels and utilize the annual sugarcane bagasse to produce teir agricultural compost, thus contributing to the preservation of the ecosystem.

Tasting notes: Golden amber color, the typical richness of sugar cane gives us the characteristic flavor of brown sugar. With a balanced palate and its structure around flavors and aromas of cocoa, sweet coconut candy and tobacco, which surprises with a citrus note. The caramel and vanilla come from our selection of oak wood, with a long and lasting finish.

The Untold History of Alberta Rum Running Alberta has a history of bold entrepreneurs who were willing to take risks to achieve their goals. One of the most notorious of these was Emilio Picariello, infamously known as 'Emperor Pic'. When Prohibition began, he saw an opportunity and quickly built a significant rum running operation. Operating from his headquarters in the Blairmore Hotel in the Crowsnest Pass, Emperor Pic ran rum through the tight mountain passes of Alberta, British Columbia and the US Pacific Northwest. Romero Distilling is building on the rich and mostly untold history of rum running in the west. Emporer Pic - Although the law considered him a criminal, Emilio had another side. He often made generous charitable contributions to the community, funded a miners’ strike, and gave Christmas presents to poor families with some of the profits from his illegal bootlegging operation. Continuing The Tradition - Although Romero Distilling Co. stays on the right side of the law, we do continue one of Emilio's traditions of giving back to our local community through staff volunteer efforts and ongoing contributions to local charities. Our rums are exceptional and truly Canadian.

Tasting Notes: Opens with notes of vanilla, butterscotch and caramel and has a long sherry finish with hints of almond and dried fruit.
